Continuing Professional Development
Continuing professional development (CPD) is how health professionals maintain and improve their clinical knowledge, expertise and competence, and develop the non-clinical personal and professional qualities required throughout their career.
This section of the Primary Care Toolkit lists available CPD education and training opportunities for general practitioners, nurses and practice managers.
Duration, cost and mode of study is detailed for each program.
All programs listed below have been selected based on their eligibility for CPD points, either as a pre-approved program or as self-directed learning, relevance to the Australian context and accessibility.
Please note that:
- The list is not exhaustive. There are other education and training opportunities not included in this list that can be used to gain CPD points.
- The list is updated regularly but may contain out-of-date information for short periods of time whilst updates are occurring.
- Some programs have been verified for CPD by one or more accreditation bodies, but not all.
We strongly recommend confirming your eligibility for CPD points when selecting which training program to undertake.
Working in aged care?
Health professionals can also access the PACE Aged Care education and training directory to view more opportunities available.
The app helps you find learning and teaching resources that support the development of specific palliative care capabilities for your aged care team. The directory includes information about learning approaches and modes of delivery for each resource. PaCE Aged Care is free to use, and all learning resources are free to access.
