Diversity is a defining characteristic of aged care. These resources will help you understand the needs of specific groups and the importance of focusing on the unique needs of each person at the end of life.

For staff training

• Download the bundle of fact sheets below to share with staff.
• Explore the ELDAC Supporting Inclusive End of Life Care Companion Guides for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Peoples, Older People from Culturally and Linguistically Diverse Backrounds and Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans and Gender Diverse and Intersex Elders. These can also be downloaded and shared with staff, and should be used in conjuction with the Australian Government Department of Health, Disability and Ageing Aged Care Diversity Framework, Provider Action Plans and the Specialisation Verification Framework.
• Encourage conversations about the backgrounds and life experiences of staff and older people to share understanding.
