Funding Streams

Palliative care practice in primary care is supported through the Medicare Benefits Schedule (MBS) and the Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme (PBS). While there are no specific palliative care MBS items, other MBS items (e.g., GP Management Plan) can be used to reimburse the delivery of palliative care.

The General Practice in Aged Care Incentive (GPACI) and MyMedicare also provide financial incentives.
