ELDAC Tools Forum
The development of the Common ELDAC Clinical Tools raised a number of questions, including:
- Role of clinical tools traditionally developed for use within the specialist palliative care sector;
- Role of audit tools, used to measure quality of aged care services; and
- Relationship of these tools to the guidance and resources from the Aged Care Quality Standards and the National Safety and Quality Health Service (NSQHS) Standards.
To facilitate a National dialogue, ELDAC brokered the ELDAC Tools Forum, pulling together key organisations from across the aged care and palliative care sectors. In preparation, participants were asked to contribute to a list of clinical and audit tools used by the aged care sector to support older Australians with palliative care needs and their carers.
