Personal care workers support the wellbeing and quality of life of older people who need help.
Care may be in their own home, in residential aged care facilities or in community care.

I am new to aged care
Being new to aged care, you will need to understand what it is and how your role and skills fit in.
- The Equip Aged Care Learning Modules cover topics such as the Australian Aged Care System, the role of care workers, and the Aged Care Quality Standards.
- The Advance Project® has a course on advance care planning and palliative care for people living with dementia.

Assess your learning needs
- Use the ELDAC Personal Learning Assessment form (658kb pdf) to rate your own knowledge, skills and confidence in palliative care and advance care planning. You can then create a learning plan (774kb pdf).
